let the right one in.
I’m sorry. I know I’ve been a bad blogger lately. But! I promise I’ll be more attentive. And on that note, how about a little romance? Thanks for sticking with me. xo.

love to london.
The person I admire most in the world lives in England and because of this, I find myself drawn to pretty much everything Brit-related. Each time I visit I love it more than the last and find the stylish girls and their accents even more charming than I remembered. But no one is more charming than my Mama.

The prettiest engagement photos I’ve seen in a while, aptly titled “taking the plunge”. Cute, no?

bright.
Just in time for the weekend (and so many fun events!), I have a mild ear infection. Is there any ailment more random? But on the bright side, I have a lovely bf who offers me things like pad thai, warm socks and back rubs because he thinks they will make me feel better. And they do.

69 love songs.
I could dress in black and read Camus
Smoke clove cigarettes and drink vermouth
Like I was 17 that would be a scream
But I don’t want to get over you- Magnetic Fields, Don’t Want to Get Over You
Amazing, right? A three hour collection of totally bizarre, power-pop songs about love, 69 Love Songs is one of my favourite albums, maybe, ever.
On long car rides from Boston to Toronto, we would listen to this album over and over, masking dark stretches with clever commentary and off-key singing. Full of more instruments and styles than I can list, this album is at times so silly and difficult and yet, completely lovable and perfect. Kind of like real romance, right? Exactly.
During those long car rides, I would hit repeat again and again, secretly hoping that the more we listened, the longer we’d drive. We’re going to see the Magnetic Fields tonight and I. Can’t. Wait. I’m so happy that i don’t listen to this album on repeat anymore.

How awesome is this picture of the lovely Garance Dore et al?
I’m so lucky to have friends like gold, with the biggest – best – hearts I know. Let’s keep giggling, gossiping and living together, always. Ok?

breathless.

beautified.
This morning was one of those dizzyingly pretty, snow globe-type days. I really like winter… well, until February arrives with its dreary weather and not a happy holiday in sight. This, however, is exactly why I fully embrace Valentine’s Day. Whether spent with my best girlfriends and a bottle(s) of wine, my bf, or enjoying one too many chocolates at my desk, it’s a welcome escape. Why not separate one lackluster February day from the rest and make it prettier in comparison?
I love these sweet Valentine’s ideas from etsy:
