cake and high heels.
26 was a great year. I travelled a lot. I visited my loves in the UK – from Cambridge to London and back again. St. John’s, Las Vegas and my new European favourite: Paris. I was promoted to Publicist. I was asked and honoured to be a part of two weddings, for two of the most lovely women I know. And then, a second adopted cat made our hearts swell just a little bit more. I didn’t even know that I liked cats when I was 25.
So today, on the first day that finally feels like real spring, I’m happy. It’s my birthday tomorrow and while I may not know what 27 holds, I do know that it’s going to be a great year. My life is full of beautiful people and places so really, how could it not be? xo.

storage love.
Those who know me and, well, now even those who don’t, know that I have a serious thing for nail polish. So of course my mind went straight to lacquer when I read Maegan’s latest brilliant DIY project. I’ve decided that I want to sort my polish collection by colour in my linen closet. So simple and lovely and also a good excuse to purchase a few more shades to balance it all out. Additional pretty storage ideas are always welcome, of course.

the week in a snap.
This past week was a busy one and this week will be, too. It’s all worth it though, as my holiday countdown is finally in full-force.
A few friends and I went to see Chloe on the weekend, only to be met at the theatre by a flashing sold-out sign. We saw The Runaways instead and left wanting to be in a 1970′s alt-grrl rock band. Hope you have a lovely Monday.

gimme moore.
I really, really want to see Chloe. Vanity Fair described it as a film that “explores the dizzying complexity of sex” – and normally, that alone would be enough to coax me to the theatre. But there’s more. It’s directed by Atom Egoyan, it’s set (and based) in Toronto and the screenwriter is that of the twisted and seductive love story, Secretary. And yes, of course I want to see the scene that consumed a thousand reviews. I mean, have you seen Julianne Moore?

Any takers? Have a lovely weekend! xo.

springtime in chambray.

All I want to wear right now is chambray.
If you feel the same way, The Gap has some lovely, classic options. I love mine.

love to london.
The person I admire most in the world lives in England and because of this, I find myself drawn to pretty much everything Brit-related. Each time I visit I love it more than the last and find the stylish girls and their accents even more charming than I remembered. But no one is more charming than my Mama.

the week in a snap.
Over the last week I discovered that Essie’s Greenport works for any occasion, experienced the addictiveness of Chatroulette (SheDoestheCity described it as “a scary place – but slightly thrilling!” Exactly.) and learned a lot from Toronto’s Blog Stars. I didn’t take any pictures of the latter, but you can find that and more at Raymi’s, Sean’s and Casie’s blogs, if you like.

seeing stars.
Last night, a few friends and I went to a great event called Toronto Blog Stars, a sort of “how-to” from a few of Toronto’s top bloggers. Sean Ward, Casie Stewart and my personal fave, Raymi the Minx were full of really helpful, smart and funny advice. All three were amazing, insightful speakers – here are a few of my favourite quotes from the evening:
You can’t fly with the eagles if you’re with the seagulls. -Casie
People are always surprised (when they meet me) that I don’t talk in caps lock. -Raymi
There is good attention and bad attention, but Google doesn’t know the difference. -Sean
Haters are the most loyal people ever. They complain that you’re boring and come back the next day to make sure you’re still boring. -Raymi

I feel inspired today. xo.
